PSI is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Controller to join our growing office in Rapid City, SD. With an emphasis on operational and tactical aspects of the company accounting department, you will be a member of the executive leadership team, working collaboratively with other executives to enable strategic decision-making for the business.

You possess an analytical mind, an ability to communicate timely financial information to your leadership colleagues, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on a dynamic, high-growth engineering company. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis and reconciliations
  • Lead an accounting department that processes complex contract invoicing and multi-state payroll accounting functions.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Assist Senior Management with special projects to support strategic decision-making (e.g., "what if" strategic analysis, forecasting, new project P&L projections)
  • Identify and track key performance metrics pertaining to business operations, gross margins, benchmarking, etc.
  • Provide contract compliance data related to indirect cost rates, complete calculations for state agency overhead rate reviews.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Supervise accounting team functions that complete multi-state tax registrations, tax payments and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate the company’s risk management and insurance policies, renewals, coverages, and audit requests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years' work experience in accounting management, financial statement analysis, GAAP compliance
  • 8+ years of people management experience in an accounting role
  • CMA or CPA license preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business from an AACSB certified institution
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Extremely strong analytical, problem-solving skills and business acumen
  • Strong communications skills
  • Project and time management skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with accounting for federal government contracts is highly preferred
